Program Dates:
January 2010 - April 2011
Program Description:
From January 2010 to April 2011, the emergency relief program supported tent camp communities with a combined population of approximately 80,000 people. These camps were predominately located in and around Port-au-Prince. Yéle Haiti conducted regular surveys of the tent camps being served, in order to track changes in camp leadership, community needs and changing demographics. After surveying each camp, Yéle Haiti worked with non-elected, community leaders and elders to identify the needs of each community and coordinate aid deliveries. Aid to these camps included food, water, clothing and other emergency supplies. Each delivery was performed with the help of residents and Yéle Haiti staff.
