Board of Directors (USA)
In the United States, a board of directors governs the work of Yéle Haiti as a nonprofit charitable organization with tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status. They are assisted in their work by a high-profile advisory board. In Haiti, we are in the process of being registered as a tax-exempt non-governmental organization with a board of directors that includes three overlapping members with the international US-based organization. A core team of Yéle Haiti staff and volunteers oversees the administration and programs, working closely with a team of professionals from Orsa Consultants who serve as project managers and coordinate external relations for the organization.

Wyclef Jean
A multiple Grammy Award-winning artist whom MTV described as “hip hop’s unofficial multicultural conscience,” Wyclef has redefined the term social entrepreneur. From his groundbreaking recordings with the Fugees in the 90’s (their 1996 album The Score still ranks as the best selling rap album of all time), to his numerous platinum solo efforts, from his spearheading of numerous charity efforts to his award-winning production of artists like Destiny’s Child, Michael Jackson and Carlos Santana, Wyclef has always preached a message of oneness and understanding. A successful businessman as well, Wyclef has carried his one-world vision into a number of business ventures including clothing lines (DIA’s Refugess brand) and film production.
